Get in the Ring Albania 2025: A Celebration of Innovation and Global Ambition

On September 17–18, 2025, Tirana became the epicenter of entrepreneurial energy as Get in the Ring Albania 2025, organized by ASDO, brought together startups, investors, mentors, and innovation leaders in a dynamic two-day event. Hosted at the Innovation Hub near the Pyramid, the competition featured a unique format where startups pitched their ideas in a boxing-style ring, battling head-to-head for a chance to represent Albania on the global stage. The event was supported by key partners including the SDC funded project RisiAlbania, implemented by Helvetas, which played a vital role in mentoring and empowering young entrepreneurs through expert-led sessions focused on business development, digital transformation, and sustainable growth.

RisiAlbania, a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) implemented by Helvetas, supported the event in line with its mission to promote employability, entrepreneurial skills, and self-employment among young people in Albania. By backing initiatives like Get in the Ring, RisiAlbania continues to foster a vibrant ecosystem where innovation meets opportunity, helping startups not only refine their business strategies but also connect with broader markets and funding sources. Their involvement underscores a long-term commitment to inclusive economic development and youth empowerment.

The first day was dedicated to mentorship, where selected startups engaged in one-on-one and group sessions with professionals from Albania and abroad. Experts such as Ermira Shyti from Helvetas (RisiAlbania), Elias Mazloum, and Daniela Haxhi from the Ministry of Economy and Innovation shared insights on HR, finance, circular economy, and digital strategy. These sessions helped startups refine their business models, sharpen their pitches, and prepare for investor engagement. The mentorship day proved to be a transformative experience, offering practical feedback and strategic guidance that elevated the participants' readiness for competition.

The final night on September 18 showcased 16 startups selected from over 50 applicants, competing in front of a distinguished jury. The panel included representatives from Swisscontact, MEKI, Titan Cement, Junior Achievement Albania, and Helvetas Albania, ensuring a well-rounded evaluation of each idea. Katalogim, a ConTech marketplace digitizing the construction industry through AI and BIM technology, was crowned the national champion. Its innovative approach to streamlining procurement and reducing waste earned it a ticket to the Get in the Ring Global Competition 2025. Meanwhile, Greecon, the runner-up, secured international participation through support from Junior Achievement Albania.
